Residential Energy Code Services

Our residential compliance services make it fast and easy for builders, designers and contractors to determine whether new homes, additions, and alterations meet State energy requirements.

Energy Code final Inspections

An energy code final inspection is similar to other trade final inspections. An inspector arrives on-site and confirms all relevant building components meet the energy code requirements. These cover a wide variety of elements from many trades including insulation, exterior air sealing, water heating, HVAC, lighting, and even some appliances.

Blink Energy Services goes above and beyond basic testing services. Every initial test includes a basic diagnostic service to pinpoint problem areas causing the home not to meet IECC leakage requirements and create a detailed path to success. Our detailed reports and plan reviews ensure that your house meets all local energy requirements and that you have the information you need to create an energy-efficient building.

BLOWER DOOR & DUCT Pressure TESTING

Did you know that air leakage in your home or business can increase heating and cooling costs? Air leaks can increase costs, impact the comfort of the area, or cause safety and health issues. Plus, under the 2015 IECC, residential structures are required to limit air leakage into the dwelling.

Blink Energy Services can help detect where a particular leak is coming from and how large it is by using Blower Door and Duct Pressure Testing. This test utilizes blower door equipment to depressurize the space and measure the amount of air infiltration in CFM (cubic feet per minute).

Energy Code Rough Inspection

An energy code rough inspection covers all the energy-related building components that can not be observed after wall concealment. Blink Energy Inspection Services comes and inspects the primary components: insulation, windows, air sealing measures, hot water pipe insulation, and HVAC duct leakage.

Residential Plan Review

A residential plan review for energy code is the cheapest time in the project to catch and correct any energy code-related issues. Blink Energy Services examines the construction documents and ensures that all building components meet the minimum or maximum values allowed by the IECC and relevant local amendments.
